UFOs Over South Texas - Presented by Noe Torres
January 12, 2012, Dustin Sekula Library, Edinburg, Texas

Author and UFO researcher Noe Torres gave a one-hour talk entitled "UFOs Over South Texas" to a standing-room crowd of 205 people on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Dustin Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg, Texas. Torres spoke about significant historical UFO encounters that have occurred in the South Texas area, including a 1953 mass sighting in downtown McAllen, Texas and a reported UFO crash near Laredo, Texas, on July 7, 1948. He also spoke about the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), encouraging attendees to report sightings and watch the skies with vigilance. He invited the audience to the "Fire in the Sky" symposium in San Antonio, Texas, on March 3, 2012, while briefly summarizing Travis Walton's amazing UFO encounter.

Following the presentation, Torres signed books and met with attendees who had questions for him. He then conducted a meeting of the South Texas MUFON section, which was attended by 18 persons (3 current MUFON members and 15 guests). Torres demonstrated the features of the Mufon.com Web site, pointing out how to file a UFO report, how to look up past UFO cases, how to use the live sighting map, and how to sign up for MUFON membership. Then, MUFON member David Acosta showed video of a UFO he sighted in 2009. The video clearly showed a hovering, pulsating orb of light due south of Acosta's location in Mission, Texas.

Torres will next be speaking at the public library in Alamo, Texas, in February.
